Ranking

At Show Support we have a unique ranking system that orders how our crew are booked. Everyone has a number next to his or her name. Duty Managers and Ops Managers simply book the crew in order of that list.

If you are ranked number 6, you will only get offered a shift if the 5 people before you are unavailable (which is quite common).

If you have been reliable for a long period of time, your ranking will progress, meaning you will be offered more work. If we hear complaints or you are not reliable, your ranking will decrease accordingly.

It means that we will always look after our regular workers who have remained loyal. We will never overlook our regular crew in favour of people who have just arrived on the scene.

Newcomers who fit in well with the crew may get a high ranking, but it is up to each individual to maintain their position with dedication to duty and consummate professionalism.

Please remember if you are being offered a lot of work, and if it seems like a steep burden, it is only because you are highly ranked. It actually means we like you.

If you want any time off, simply update your unavailability in your crew page of the database and you can give yourself as much of a rest as you need, any time you like, for as long as you like, or as many times as you like, for whatever reason you like.

If you do not update your unavailability, we will consider you to be fully available for work.

One thing that will adversely affect your ranking is the cardinal sin of blowing out a gig – not showing up to your shift without calling the office with a reason.

Blow outs will not be tolerated.

People who fail to show up to their shifts without advising the office you are unreliable, prepared to let their fellow Showies down. Their word can’t be trusted. It is the ultimate sign of poor character.

To put it simply, Show Supporters just DON’T do it.
